ABOUT US!

Boutique-tastic officially started in November 2023 – though my little Facebook group had been going long before that. It was during a scroll through Google while on holiday in Lanzarote (classic me) that it all just clicked.

On the 18th November, with exactly £100 to my name – no savings, no loans, no investments – I bought two boxes of clothing and thought, “Right, let’s do this!” I had 6 reps, no website, no back office… just vibes and determination.

Back then, reps would message me with orders, transfer the money, keep their instant commission, and off we went.

Come December, my daughter Jess helped me set up our very first website and back office – so reps could finally track their commission and get paid more smoothly. The site started with just 10-12 items online. Baby steps!

Then came January 2024 – and things began to grow. I introduced the option for reps to build their own teams. All of this… from my back bedroom. A tiny 6ft x 9ft room. Honestly, I was juggling everything:

• Training reps
• Hosting bootcamps
• Setting daily tasks & supporting everyone in the chats
• Handling returns & exchanges
• Posting parcels
• Taking stock photos, filming videos
• Emailing suppliers and customers
• And of course… promoting Boutique-tastic non-stop!

Then April hit… and I made my biggest mistake: dropshipping from China. Yup, not my finest hour. Poor quality, wrong sizing, slow delivery – the stress was unreal. By June, I had to choose: keep the China stock and risk it all, or get rid and protect my business. Without hesitation, I deleted every last item.

That same month, I moved Boutique-tastic out of my bedroom and into a unit! Not a big flashy one, just a space in a self-storage facility (no bills, just rent – very handy). I started in a 100 sq ft unit… lasted a week. Way too small. Moved into 150 sq ft… lasted a month. Then upgraded to 225 sq ft and even had Mary coming down to model stock – our photo area wasn’t great, but we made it work!

December 2024, I upgraded again (I know, I’m addicted). Now we’re in a 300 sq ft unit with:

• 4 x 5-tier shelving units
• 2 clothing rails
• 24-cube storage
• A photo area
• Changing area
• Packing station
• And even a serious "laptop work" zone!

By the end of 2025, my goal is to be in a 500 sq ft unit – and trust me, I’ll get there.
